Jeep (Meridian)SUV 

Owned by Fiat Chrysler automobiles, this US-based company entered the Indian community-driven market of jeeps in 2016. The new Jeep model, dubbed to be known as ‘Meridian”, will be a 7-seater SUV with a 2L turbo diesel engine. Conventional jeep features and tidy interiors will be a staple along with new IOT integrated systems. It is expected to launch in March 2022 and has already begun testing in Brazil. Priced at approximately Rs.35 lakhs, it’s a worthy option to consider.

Maruti Jimny

The household Maruti brand is hoping to change the 4×4 scene of Indian automobiles. The largest automaker in the country hasn’t launched an off-roader since the Gypsy and Vitara generations. The Jimny has been making news since some time, despite being manufactured in India, the SUV is yet to be sold in the country. At a modest Rs.10 lakhs, the Jimny is going to be a steal for all budget-minded consumers and likely to be available for the masses in the first half of 2022. Powered by a K-series 1.5L Petrol engine (same as one in Brezza, Ciaz), it is projected to be a 5 door SUV churning out 100 horses with good on-road and off-road presence.

Mahindra XUV300 (Electric)

Mahindra has understood the current need in the transportation scene and is planning to release another electric vehicle to their expanding range. The new XUV300 is modeled after the old petrol engine variation, even sporting the same design. It is expected to be out by April 2022 with an estimated value of Rs.18 lakh excluded on-road tax. The company is trying new futuristic styles to suit the modernity of the vehicle. The car is likely to rival against the Tata Nexon EV, and a price tag of the XUV300 might be key to the car’s success.

Audi Q7

The New Q7 is loaded with a huge boot space of almost 219L, unlike the previous models, which still required more room. A higher 200m ground clearance allows the car to move around more effortlessly, aided by the automatic 248BHP engine. It comes in both diesel and petrol and is looking to be priced between Rs.75 to 85 lakhs. Audi provides its virtual cockpit feature, which assists drivers with valuable information. This variant will come with BOSE surround premium sound systems.

Toyota Land Cruiser

The Land Cruiser is set to be bigger and faster with a fresh new look for the front grille and sleek bright LED lights. The model to be released in India as soon as December is going to have a whopping 4.4L Automatic Diesel engine, packing surplus torque to tread any terrain, with the robust build and chassis modeling after the age-old design. The price comes at a staggering Rs.1.5 Crore, with the fully-featured to come with exciting new modifications. 

Toyota Hilux

The rumors’ of the Toyota Hilux pickup truck launching in India had been around for a few years, but finally, it looks like the world-famous Hilux pickup truck is all set to launch in January 2022. The Hilux is expected to come with two engine options for the Indian market – a 2.4L turbo-diesel and a 2.8L turbo-diesel unit – with both manual and automatic transmission options on offer. The top-end variants of the Toyota Hilux is expected to be a 4×4 option. The pickup is sure to turn heads of auto and off-road enthusiasts in the country.
