Tata Safari Rebirth ( from failure Suv to mini land rover )

Rebirth of TATA SAFARI....

TATA SAFARI whose dark edition is launched recently and the safari whose top model price now is nearly around 30 lakhs!!! but still this car is one of the best selling car in its segment .. but as we all know old Tata safari Strome was discontinued 2 years before due to its very low sales .. as the sales of this car were dropped to that extent where 12 months of this cars sales were equal to 1 months sales of Mahindra scorpion ..

So today we are gonna talk about the previous down fall of Tata safari and its huge comeback in 2021 ....

Then lets go now to year 1991 where Tata launched Tata sierra on the price tag of 5 lakh rupees ex showroom which was very high price in India and the car too was the most expensive car in India at that time .. but as per that time the car got up with very good technology and unique looks but still the car was not able to reach to that level of sales as the engine refienment and fuel efficiency of car was not that good!.. and side by side at that time the demands of urban cities were increasing alot for cars as per capita income of the people over there was increasing lot that time so the demands of people in urban cities at time was of a efficient , way more luxary and comfortable car which can run good in city hence Tata thought why not to make a car with good offroading capablities with luxary and comfort too .. and then brand got engaged in making a car where you must get combination of bothh!! ie. comfort and offroading .. that time the company had Tata sierra , Tata talcoline , Tata Sumo so the brand had a god catch in utility vehicle even on that time ..

LAUNCH OF TATA SAFARI AND INDICA !!

Now the wait was over and officially time had came when in 1998, Mr. Ratan Tata launched 2 cars in AutoExpo which were Tata indica and Tata Safari and both of those cars were targeting perticular segment ...where indica was launched in hatch back at very descent price tag of 2.6 lakhs for base model and with it safari was costed at 8.25 lakhs for base model which was obviously very expensive comparable to that time of 1998.. as when we compare 8.25 lakhs for 1998 and 2022 they value for 47.25 lakhs now in 2022

but still this car was getting well technology at that time with features such as LHD , mechanical defferential locks , and a 2.0 litre engine too and inspite all this the Safari achived descent sales figure though tata launched this car as lifestyle vehicle .
then in 1999 this car was launched in europe with ABS , EBD and as soon as the car was launched in europe .. Tata also promised that they will comeup with petrol option in this car and took 3 years to come up with that petrol engine 😂 but leave it ..

YEAR 2002 BIGGEST COMPITIOTOR OF SAFARI!!!

Now it comes year 2002 when a big boom is launched by mahindra this year named scorpion which directly rivaled Tata safari as Scorpion was same in dimensions like safari butttt the price was shocking!!! inspite of getting a bigger powered engine scorpion was launched at 5.5lakhs at 2002😳 which was op!!! and as that thing the consumers were now shifting from safari to Scorpion now .. but still tata didnt made any changes in its prouction line.. costing .. features nothing!! but managed to launch special edition of Safari in 2003 .in which tata declared only 600 units to be made and in this special unit tata was giving ps2 in it wowww what a change man!!😂 and got a fridge in it with lcd screens in rare seats andd 130 degree camera too ! but the car was priced at 11.30lakhs 😑 and then Tata was again made sad as mahindra launched petrol varient of scorpion

But thennn in 2005 at my birth year Tata launched Safari with enhanced looks .. new grill , new headlights , new alloys , and a new tata dicor engine too which was 3000cc engine with 116bhp power and 300nm torque but now the good thing was the price..

this car was now costing 6.4 lakhs only ..
then again in 2007 Tata launched new varient of safari named dicor safari and now again new engine was addeed up in this varient which was now of 2.2 litre and with 140bhp of horse power and dual airbags too with much change in interior but the thing happened was despite of the car bieng at the point the image of the car was spoiled alot till the time in europe and India too , main issue was the price as it was directly compared to much under costed car scorpion and .. there came up with many articles stating why you should never buy a safari and this completly sated the hate safari was reciving at the moment that resulted in much larger downfall of sales of this car in both Europe and India and

then in 2012 this car is now totally updated by Tata with new lights, new engine with 400 nm torque , new alloys , and total drastic change in interior and it gets a new name Tata safari Strome ..

ENTRY OF BEAST MAHINDRA XUV 500

But again mahindra pokes a big nose and again one boom take place as in 2012 Mahindra launched Xuv 500 .. which was giving very best features and looks at that time in comparison with safari on comparativly very less price tag so now people which were buying Safari again started shifting on Xuv 500 and went on forgetting safari . then again in 2015 new version of safari was launched in which you got land rover style grill and many new changes but that brought again with huge price range of 12 lakhs for base model whereas scorpio that time costed 11.25 lakhs for its top model ..

but around that time the old 2012 tata safari dicor was still in sell but it was quite outdated and then in july 2017 tata shuted off the production of dicor model .. but then one good news arises in 2018 which states that tata gets order of specially build 3192 units of safari gonna used for military in india whose code name was GS800 where they got 265bhp of horse power and 800 nm of torque only in matt green finish and again there comes one more good news in 2018! that there is increase in sales of safari by 42%

AND THEN GOVERNMENT INTODUCES BS6 NOM!!!

now its year 2019 and in this one there is sudden arrival of Tata harrier in market which is now a completly new SUV and meets todays standerds and looks proper classy and ellegent with large scales of new features and then officially in november 2019 tata declares discontinuation of Safari .

SAFARI FINALLY DISCONTINUED!!!

ENTRY OF HARRIER AND THEN GRAVITAS...

and then oneday in a auto expo tata showed 7 seater version of tata harrier .. which got much love from people and they thought this is gonna replace tata safari now and then tata conformed official name of this car and that was GRAVITAS and then in january 2021 tata again declared that forget gravitas .. now the name of this car is gonna be Tata safari and people were not that happy after listening that . as the thought of safari was as offroader and giving this car wont emphasise that as this car neither have 4 by 4 nor all wheel drive but still car is launched on 27 january 2021 with safari badging on the price tag of 14.69 lakhs ex-showroom India which is loved by Indians!! and now dark edition of this car is launched .. and this all new safari 2021 now comes up with 1956cc of 4 cylilenderd engine which produces 125 bhp power with 350nm of torque..
